Good value, minor quibbles

I signed up for Going Premium during their Black Friday deal and found it a good value overall. The Flight Alerts were frequent and relevant for my home airport. I did get a few alerts that were gone by the time I clicked, which was a bit frustrating. Customer service was quick to respond when I had a billing question. It's a solid service, but I wish the alerts had a bit more lead time sometimes.

Always reliable deals

I've been a Premium member for a few years now, and Going continues to deliver. This last Transpacific Flight Deals alert saved me a bunch on a trip to Japan, just like previous alerts for Europe. The consistency is why I keep renewing. No surprises, just good deals to my inbox.

Detailed insights on my Going experience

I recently subscribed to Going Premium for their International Flight Deals and to try out their Mistake Fares alerts. The ordering process was straightforward on their website; I used a promotional link for a first-year discount. Email alerts started coming in within a day, primarily for destinations in Europe and Asia from my selected airports. I appreciated the clear details in each alert-airline, dates, typical price vs. Going price. While I haven't booked a mistake fare yet, I did find a very competitively priced round-trip to London that I wouldn't have otherwise seen. Delivery of alerts was prompt. I did have a question about changing my home airport, and customer support replied within 24 hours with clear instructions. The quality of the deals seems legitimate. Overall, it's a useful tool for travelers looking for good flight prices.

Easy to use, got some deals

Signed up for Going Premium, mainly for the International Flight Deals. Got a few alerts pretty quick. One for a trip to Portugal was decent, took 3 days to book it. The site was easy to navigate and alerts came right to my email. Pretty chill experience overall.

Worth the discount

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the best deal. I managed to snag a 50% off first-year Premium membership. The Domestic Flight Deals and Weekend Getaway Alerts have already paid for themselves with one trip. I'm always looking to save, so getting that discount upfront made me feel like I got good value for my money. It definitely felt worth the purchase.

Is there usually a Black Friday deal for this service? Been meaning to sign up for Elite but wanna wait for the best price.

S Sam 2 months ago
Oh for sure! They almost always have something for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I got my first year of Premium half off during one of those sales.

Yep, definitely wait. They do sales around those big shopping days, usually for new subscribers or sometimes even renewal offers if you're already a member. Keep an eye out after Thanksgiving.

yeah they do! I got a 14-day free trial for Premium when I signed up last month. Just gotta remember to cancel if you don't like it.

They usually have one, sometimes it's linked to a promo though. But definitely worth checking to see the deals they find for your specific departure spots.

Wondering if anyone has used Going vs Jack's Flight Club? Trying to decide which one to go with, mostly looking for international flights out of NYC.

D Dana C. 2 months ago
I've used both actually. Going (fka Scott's) seems to have a wider variety of airports you can track, and for international from NYC, they're both pretty good. Going feels a bit more organized with the emails.

JFC is decent but Going just has better mistake fares consistently in my experience. For NYC, you'll probably get bombarded with good stuff from either though lol.

So if I sign up for Going, do they actually book the flights for me or do I have to do all that myself? Just curious how hands-on it is.

S Sarah Z. 2 months ago
Nah, they don't book anything for you. They just send you the alerts and links to where you can book the cheap flights yourself. Think of them as the messenger, not the travel agent.

You gotta book it yourself, for sure. They tell you where to find the deals and sometimes give tips on how to search, but you're in charge of the actual booking process on airline or OTA sites.

Does anyone know if they have a student discount? I'm in college and travel a lot for breaks, could really use something cheaper.

S Steve Walsh 2 months ago
I think they do! I remember seeing something about it in their FAQs or a help article. Worth checking their site directly for 'student discount'.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they offer one. You might need to verify your student status through like, SheerID or something similar, but it's an option to get a few bucks off.
